Kingfishers are in trouble
Kingfishers are one of this country's most iconic birds associated with our rivers.
But nationally kingfishers are a cause of concern and are coded as ‘amber' on the national list of ‘Birds of Conservation Concern'.
The Itchen Navigation has the potential to be a stronghold for these birds, but major efforts are needed to create more potential breeding sites and territories.
